That is to say, anyone expecting elections are going to straighten this shit out is in for a grim surprise. I can promise you they won't, I seem, based on the predictions I've made for the precedimg decade, to have a real talent for recognizing patterns well before they are clear to everyome else, ffs, for example, I saw that trump was channeling Hitler immediately by simply replacing the word "immigrants" with "Jews", the pattern is instantly recognizable, today, it should be as clear as a bell to anyone. In 22, I said, over and over that Republicans were acting as though elections didn't matter, as though they had a "secret weapon" they would use at the last, ie, if you believe 24 wasn't blatantly stolen, I have some bad news. I am seeing the same pattern now, the elections will happen, but if the same equipment is used, the American Fascist Party (AFP) can't lose. I am telling you right now, if we don't rise up soon, it will be too late, by 26 there won't be much left, by 28, it will no longer be possible, or will be FAR more difficult. We have GOT to find a way to open the eyes of the apathetic, and if you got the means to prepare, now's the time.

Thanks for sharing this, Angie. I know I’m not the only one who sees more criminality coming, particularly with regard to future elections!

This is my theory, I genuinely believe we will eventually reach the conclusion that a popular uprising, ie a revolution, is the only way out.

I believe that they are planning to leave us no other option. Given that they are expecting “the majority” to reach this conclusion at some point, everything they are doing, the mass deportations of people who are more likely to be Democrat than Republican, weakening safety nets, the CDC, FDA, USDA, making water and air less safe, taking away health care, pushing antivax bullshit, ALL OF IT, is in the interest of “softening the battlefield”.

They are attempting to weaken the strength of the mob they know will eventually come for them by creating as much sickness and death as possible.

This is why I think it’s in our best interest to reach this conclusion sooner rather than later, before we are too sick and weak to do it. Like, much much sooner....

I've wanted to reply to your comments for two days now, Lux. Sorry it's taken me this long. I don't even have anything meaningful to add because you said it all here, and I agree with every word. Mostly, it was just important to me that I let you know that, and thank you for reading and for your thoughtful comment(s). I love my extraordinarily intelligent, empathetic friends who are part of my community here on Substack, who see all of this for what it is. I'm happy to count you among them, and hope that you'll stick around for a long time. Thanks again.

I had heard something (somewhere--sorry, old brain of Swiss cheese) about Drumpf suggesting farmers "pay" for their workers. Have you heard anything about that? I was wondering if this is another grift for him.

I'm so sick of all of it. And the bots are running nonstop, talking about how wonderful the BBB is, trying to break down all the components as if they make sense. I can imagine how so many folks will begin saying, "well, it doesn't sound so bad," simply because they're exhausted, and someone needs to do the same thing that say, "THIS IS WHY THIS IS BAD!"

Gad... wake me up from this nightmare.

Oh, and just an aside... Tropical Storm Chantal made landfall in Wilmington and headed straight for us. It was VERY wet, and there were flash floods, some property damage--we had a street collapse near me that caused a utility (water) outage as well as the usual power outage.... fun times. Anyway, what was of particular interest was the fact that the National Weather Service must have sent about a bajillion messages to our cell phones all day long about flash flood warnings, don't go out unless you need to, etc. In other words, the OPPOSITE of what happened in Texas.

Do you think someone is afraid of more lawsuits, LOL?

; )

Eileen, I am just seeing this comment. Did you fare the storm? Is all well with you and yours? I'm assuming so since it sounds like you were well-warned by the NWS!

LOL--Yes, we survived. Actually, a street just around the corner from us completely caved in, causing a temporary water outage for our neighborhood, and the need to boil water once it came back online. There was a dam that burst near one of the golf courses (which to me is called karma, LOL) and it created a lot of mess, and I guess there was other such property damage. We didn't have it as badly as some other towns. It seems there was a lot of water outage. THIS is what always worries me, more than power outages. You can live with candles, but water?

Teenage kid: “Why do I have to ask your permission?”

Parent: “Because I’m responsible for you!”

Dog: “Why can’t I roam freely?”

Owner: “Because I’m responsible for you!”

Employee: “Why do I have to run everything past my manager?”

Employer: “Because they’re responsible for you!”

Responsibilities come with corresponding rights. If a person is legally responsible for another then they must, in every instance - bar none, have the legal right to exercise control over them.

When Trump says that farmers will be “responsible for” their undocumented workers, it necessarily means that the farmers will have control over those workers.

The farmers will tell their workers where to live (most likely on the property so the farmers can keep an eye on them), where and when they will go places, who they will associate with, what they will do in their spare time, and how they will spend their money.

So when Chris says that Trump intends to bring back slavery, it’s not hyperbole. It’s fact!
